Date, time, chip and diploma
Competitions will take place on Sunday, December, 19 2010.
The Marathon (International Fidal competition 42,195 km long) will start from Pontedera (Bellaria Sport Campus) at 9:00 a.m..
The Half Marathon (Uisp competition 21,097 km long) will start from Cascina (via Tosco Romagnola) at the same time as the Marathon at 9:00 a.m..
The 2 competitions, as in the last three years, will start from different locations but will have the same finish line in Pisa in Piazza dei Miracoli. The Half Marathon course is the same as the second half of the Marathon course. The Half Marathon starts from km 21.097 of the Marathon course.
There will be three (3) Champion Chip timing points: at the start in Pontedera, at km 21.097 km (Half Marathon) and at the finish line in Piazza dei Miracoli. Timing results will be available almost immediately on the website www.sdam.it from which athletes can also download their diploma with split times, official time, real time and final position.
The time limit to complete the Marathon is 6 hours.
Every finisher will get the 7th medal of the collection ‘the Provincia of Pisa and its beauties’, this year dedicated to San Giuliano Terme.

Saturday, December, 18
Ore 10,00 – 20,00 – Expo opening where athletes can pick up their bib numbers, chips and runners’ bags. Pass for press, guests and staff. Information area, reception and hospitality.
Schedule, meetings and shows to be defined.

Sunday, December, 19
Ore 6,45 – shuttle bus gathering in Pisa (Stadium ‘Arena Garibaldi’ for the North Area of Pisa and Piazza Guerrazzi, area expo for the South Area of Pisa);
Ore 7,00 – shuttle bus leaving for Pontedera and Cascina.
Ore 7,00 – bib numbers, chips and runners’ bags pick up in Pontedera and Cascina.
Ore 8,30 – stop delivering athlete bags which will be transported from Pontedera and Cascina to Pisa; athletes gathering in the starting area.
Ore 9,00 – Marathon start from Pontedera and Half Marathon start from Cascina.
Soon after start of the non competitive run in Pisa: 1st Happy Christmas Family Run
Ore 10,00 – Half Marathon first arrivals prev.
Ore 10,30 – Half Marathon award ceremony
Ore 10.30 – Changing rooms and showers opening (Stadium ‘Arena Garibaldi’) and shuttle train from arrival point to the stadium (for showers and cars recover)
Ore 11,10 – Marathon first arrivals prev.
Ore 11.00 – Shuttle bus service start from Pisa to Cascina and Pontedera.
Ore 11.30 – Marathon award ceremony.
Ore 15.00 – Marathon deadline (time limit 6 hours).


General information
Athletes’ bags with personal belongings will be collected at the starting point and taken to the finish line. The Marathon course goes through Pontedera, Calcinaia, Vicopisano, Cascina, San Giuliano Terme before entering Pisa and going through the ancient part, along the river and towards the finish line in in Piazza dei Miracoli. Refreshments are every 5 km. It is strictly forbidden to get refreshments along the course apart from those placed by PisaMarathon staff; otherwise athletes will be disqualified! It is strictly forbidden to go along the marathon course without bib number. PisaMarathon is not responsible for damages to people or properties which are not allowed to go along the marathon course (people without bibnumber, bikes, etc.). The course goes along paved roads. Kilometers along the course are numbered. Final results by Champion chip and Federazione Cronometristi Italiani, Pisa.


Participation
Participants are required to be 20 years old on race day: December 19, 2010. PisaMarathon international Marathon is open to all the athletes, Italian or not, who are Fidal members or members of federations recognized by CONI, IAAF and AIMS. Athletes state to be fit and to have properly trained for the competition within their registration. There will be rescue points along the course; every athlete who has problems in completing the course is invited to stop and ask for help. The athlete who is not member of an athletic association and has not a medical certificate stating that he or she is fit to run the competition may participate but cannot get awards as stated by Fidal rules.

Registration information
Entries into the PisaMarathon will be accepted until December 9, 2010. The field size is limited to 2000 athletes for the marathon and to 1000 athletes for the half marathon. The entry form must be filled in in every part, it must be signed and a copy of the payment receipt together with a copy of FIDAL card or similar must be attached to the entry form.

(*): if you own a Champion-Chip you have to write its code on the registartion form (or online form) and it will not be needed any additional payment. If you do not own a Champion–Chip you have to pay additional 10,00 euro (5,00 of which you will get back after the race).

Bib number and race bag withdraw
Bib numbers, chip and runners’ bags will be available at the Marathon-Expo on December 17 and 18 from 10:00 until 20:00. On that occasion there will be official merchandise, sportswear stands and other exhibitors. There will be meetings as well.
Bib numbers and runners’ bags can also be picked up Sunday morning in Cascina (21,097 km) and Pontedera (42,195 km).

Transports, pace-makers and showers
PisaMarathon ensures athletes transport from Pisa to Pontedera and Cascina (and back after the arrival). Please check the shuttle bus timetable at the Marathon-Expo or on PisaMarathon website. The last bus will be leaving at 7:00 a.m. Starting locations are still to be defined.
Even this 2010 PisaMarathon there will be a Marathon “Pacemaker” service. Pacemakers will be provided for: 3h00, 3h15, 3h30’, 3h45’, 4h00’, 4h15’, 4h30’, 4h45’, 5h.

Tv and photos
The competion will be filmed by National and regional tv. A photo service will be provided by a professional photo studio. Every runner, by signing the entry form, grants to the PisaMarathon and its sponsors the exclusive right to the free use of his/her name, voice and pictures taken during the event. Every runner allows his/her data processing by the photo service studio and by PisaMarathon.
